Dear Writers and Readers, welcome to the first volume of Λletheia Literary Quarterly—ΛLQ.

We are a literary journal, following a seasonal publication schedule.

We publish fiction, poetry and prose poetry and are open for submissions.

If you have comments or enquiries please email our Senior Editor Dr. Christopher Cyrill and the editorial panel at alqeditors@gmail.com.

ALQ offers writers editorial feedback on their work. For a  small fee our editors will offer the writer a four dot point critical  evaluation of your fiction/poem/prose poem. We will also return that  feedback within ten working days.

Thank you for supporting ALQ.

Aletheia Literary Quarterly is an online journal founded by Dr. Christopher Cyrill, novelist , prose poet and former Fiction Editor of Heat Literary International and Associate/Fiction Editor of Southerly Journal.

Our editorial panel is comprised of working writers and academics, all of whom are committed to the art of Literature.

We are open to the experimental and the traditional and seek above  all the craft of writing—a distinction of style and voice, an interest  in the shape of a sentence and the depth of the line.

We are looking for literary work that possesses enigma, or following Blanchot the ‘essential solitude’.

Your subscription keeps us fluid and will allow us to bank funds to pay our writers and editors. We are also supporters of the World Wildlife Fund and will make an annual donation each year using subscription fees.

We appreciate your support and hope you love what you read on our website.

The password for each volume will be emailed to you on the day of publication.

Best Wishes,

The ALQ Editors.

Prose poets—we love the full textural use of the page, but writerly texture, not gimmicks. We will try to adapt our page structures to yours  wherever possible.

Poets—we love the lyric, the fragment, the craft.

Aletheia Literary Quarterly accepts literary short stories and extracts from novels in progress.

Following Robert Musil we believe, The sentence is the tombstone of the thought that inspired it.

We like cross-genre work but we do not publish science fiction.

We like metissage and carnival and the essential solitude of the fictional world.

Our word limit is 7500.

Please do a spellcheck before submitting and remove any cliches or timeworn phrases.
